I love the flavor of it. It is not bitter or sour, very smooth. I recently had one, it was a mistake order a co-worker made, and I really liked it. I have had espresso before and it either tasted very bitter/sour or almost chalky. It was not pleasant but this one is! Does anyone know what type of bean they use?ย
I believe this is the case for all their coffee and not just their espresso but they use a blend of Arabica and Robusta beans. A lot of coffee places use one or the other, or a different blend but Starbucks gets that smooth flavor by combining just the right amount of each to balance out the acidic notes.ย

I am going to keep this in mind when I check around for beans and coffee to drink at home! I really do love this blend. I think a lot of people do. I know Arabica beans are one of the top selling ones in America, so it makes sense.ย

I am not entirely sure which area they are sourced in but most Arabica and Robusta beans have similar flavour. You will get better flavour with higher quality beans though so keep that in mind!
