I never tried it and don't know much about it but I am seeing it more and more. It seems to have become somewhat of a trend. I thought I would ask here since I am sure someone will know more about it than I do! The only kind of "cold" coffee I enjoy are the fancy ones with all the added ingredients. Think Starbucks and the like. Can someone explain what cold brew is to me?ย
Iced coffee is standard coffee that is chilled. Cold brewed coffee is, as implied, brewed cold which allows it to have a longer shelf-life. It can last several days in the fridge. The process takes 12 to 24 hours. People that do it at home tend to make a larger batch for the week. It removes a lot of the acidic taste which is why those who prefer a weaker coffee tend to prefer the flavour. It does contain more caffeine though!

Ohhh! That makes so much sense! So it takes a while to make then. That would explain why it is more expensive than standard coffee. I thought that it was just chilled like tea is.ย

The process offers you are less bitter coffee that also has higher amounts of caffeine so it is a good option for someone that wants a softer drink that gives them more energy!ย
