Which home method works better for beginners?

I was gifted some amazing green coffee beans that have to be roasted. I have been putting off doing this as I have no skills when it comes to roasting my own beans, I had never done so in my life. Can someone with experience roasting at home recommend which would be best for a beginner?ย

Using a pan is easier as you have more control of the roast. If you do the oven, you may end up with burns on your beans. I tried a few times and just can't manage it but the pan method worked just fine.ย

Oh okay, thanks! So which sort of pan should I use? I am not sure what material would be best and whether or not I should use a pain I cook food in or not. I know certain things should be kept separate.ย ย

You can use whatever you'd like. I believe stainless steel and glass will both offer the most even cooking of them. Ceramic is hit or miss as well as other sorts of non-stick pans.
