I thought of adding these to my small compost I started this spring. I have a small area in my garden where I want to plant some veg. I just don't know if it will be fully broken down in time for spring which is when I intend on starting everything. Anyone with experience know how long it takes?ย
It depends on how much you have and what size compost pile you are doing. It takes longer in cooler months. You want to turn the pile once a week or so, at the minimum once every 10 days. I will take between 3 to 6 months.ย

I guess this makes sense. I really didn't clarify any size or amounts of anything. It should be ready for spring then, either way.
Even if I start it next month, 6 months will be April. Thanks for letting me know!

Oh you should have plenty of time. Even if it is not fully broken down, you can remove the bits and the soil will still be enriched from the coffee grounds. A friend of mine just composts the stuff in place as well. You have to have space for this and make sure you keep it covered to keep the pests away though!
