I am wondering if anyone here is local to the area and can recommend a place to find some good coffee. I prefer blended drinks over plain coffee so please keep that in mind. The more options, honestly the better! I like to try new coffee blends and beverages when I come across them. I will be going next weekend.

Edinburgh is brilliant for specialty coffee — a few places worth checking out for blended drinks specifically. Cairngorm Coffee on Frederick Street is excellent and does some great filter options and blended drinks that go well beyond the standard chain offerings. Artisan Roast on Broughton Street is another favourite — they roast their own beans and the baristas really know their stuff, which means they can make good recommendations based on what you usually enjoy. For the full Edinburgh indie coffee experience, The Counter on Canongate is worth a visit too — lovely space and the food matches the coffee quality. The best specialty coffee places in Edinburgh tend to have the same attention to detail across everything — the beans, the technique, and the food — so if the coffee is good, the pastries or small plates usually are too.
